Higher Contrast Colors!!!

Postby penrod on Thu May 31, 2007 9:24 pm

A few people have mentioned that they need higher contrast colors and that blue colors is hard to read. Try out the new one I have added. It is pretty extreme as far as contrast goes.

In your User Control Panel, under board preferences, you can change this. It is called "YellowGlass".

I believe that this link will get you there...

ucp.php?i=165

Please give me feedback. If it is TOO extreme, let me know.

It is higher contrast and quite readable but all that yellow is distracting to me. I'm noy condemning it but I'll stick with the other.

Yeah, it's not real pretty to look at.

Do you guys want me to find something better? Tell me what to look for. Less yellow?

How about replacing the yellow with some shade of blue?

I added "GreenGlass" and "BlueGlass". Same theme, but the yellow is either Blue or Green. Is this more on track? Or should I dump the whole "Glass" theme series and find something else?

No matter, blue, green or yellow, the color always seems so intense. Too bad the intensity of the blue green or yellow cannot be turned down. Oh well back to the drawing board.

The "colors" on a black background do seem a bit intense.

The black-yellow combination theoretically has the most contrast.
what about a black (and shades of grey) on pale yellow background?

or what about black text on a white background, as in the "High Contrast White" scheme under Destop > Display Properties > Appearance?

My favortie is "Rainy Day". ...Yes, very bland. But then again, sometimes bland is OK, as long as there is a choice.

I am no fan of yellow and black (farking Squealers) but I have a hard time reading the blue on blue of the default. So, the colors here are easier to read. On PHP2 here I used the alternate colors for the same reason. I liked that color scheme better but any that I can read is better than one I cannot (or not well).
