DS1 Ira J. Friedman

Worked with Ira on the USS Ranger in the 1970's. He was a good friend as well.

Just found out that he died in 2006, probably because of health problems he had all his life. He will be missed.

He was a good friend and mentor, and he and his wife, Francine, were foster parents for a lot of kids that might not have made it otherwise.

He kept me out of what could have been a lot of trouble, asked great 'stupid questions', and truly loved what he did.

As I dig up more stuff from my records, I'll past some more.

He was a good guy--I'll be sad for a long while.
