[quote="rmcguire"][quote="paulechols"][quote="rmcguire"]To paraphrase whatever member of the Southern constabulary what said it, "We in a heap o' trouble, Bo-ahs!"

Congrats, Rusty!

Later,[/quote]

Was it Sherriff Buford T Pusser from "Smoky and the Bandit"???[/quote]

Paul - Buford Pusser was the sherrif in "Walking Tall". Buford T. Justice was Jackie Gleason's character in "Smoky and the Bandit".

I don't remember who the sheriff was that first said those memorable words, "Yore in a heap o' trouble, Bo-ah," or read them from a script. Might not have been either of those two.

Later,[/quote]

I am always in a heap o' trouble!!! Thanks for correcting my memory. I loved the "Walking Tall" movie when it came out in what 72 or 73. Who could forget Jackie Gleason but me!!

Have a great day Rex and spoil Corole when she gets home!

Believe this is the start of it, more or less. I'm fairly sure the line must have showed up in a movie or two before this.

Joe Higgins played JW, a stereotypical Southern sheriff in television commercials and magazine ads promoting the Dodge muscle cars of the day.

Oh, yeah.
Does that mean that I might be placed in shackles and punished by Rusty?
Oh no, not the whip. Please, ....anything but the whip.

I just realized that stupid responses to Front Page News items cannot edited or deleted.
What happened to the Un-Stupid button?

There were several memorable quotes from "Cool Hand Luke", but I don't seem to remember that one being in the mix. I think the most memorable one was "What we got here is a (BLEEP BLEEP) failure to communicate." And I think that was Strother Martin's line. Of course, some would argue that Paul Newman had the best one when he said, "Lord, whatever I've done, don't strike me blind for another couple of minutes."

I think Rick got it right with Sheriff JW in the old Chrysler commercials.

But since you are now an admin, you may have the edit/delete privilage.

And, from the looks of the posts, the the BBCode (HTML) feature is turned off.
